An 875-Metre Run

The encierro of San Fermín runs about 875 metres through Pamplona's streets each morning from 7 to 14 July, and takes the bulls between two and four minutes. Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises made it internationally famous in 1926.

The clock: the run starts at 08:00 precisely, announced by a rocket — one of the few events anywhere that a whole country can set a watch by.
