Gardens on Nineteen Terraces

The Baháʼí terraces climb Mount Carmel in nineteen levels over about a kilometre, with a one-kilometre stair through the middle. They were completed in 2001 and are a UNESCO site.

The clock: Haifa keeps Israeli time, and the city runs the country's only public transport that operates on Shabbat, along with its only underground funicular railway.
