Did You Know?

Possibly the Oldest City Still Inhabited

The citadel mound at Erbil rises about 30 metres above the plain, built entirely from the debris of previous settlements. People have lived on it more or less continuously for around 6,000 years, which makes it one of the strongest claimants to the oldest continuously inhabited site on Earth.

The clock: Erbil keeps UTC+3 with the rest of Iraq. The citadel was deliberately kept occupied by a single family during its restoration, so the continuity claim would not be broken.
