A Wall Forty Kilometres Long

Moulay Ismail built roughly 40 kilometres of walls around Meknes from 1672, along with granaries designed to hold twenty years of grain and stables said to have housed 12,000 horses. He ruled for 55 years and worked tens of thousands of labourers on it.
