Where the Aeroplane Was Worked Out

The Wright brothers ran a bicycle shop in Dayton and did most of their design and wind-tunnel work here, flying only at Kitty Hawk because it had the wind and the sand. Their first practical aircraft flew at Huffman Prairie outside the city in 1905.
