A Mosque Rebuilt From Its Own Fragments

The Ferhat Pasha Mosque, built in 1579, was destroyed in 1993. Reconstruction recovered thousands of original stone fragments from a rubbish dump and a river, and the rebuilt mosque reopened in 2016.
