The Oldest Surviving City in Colombia

Santa Marta was founded in 1525, the oldest continuously inhabited Spanish city in Colombia. Behind it the Sierra Nevada rises to 5,700 metres about 42 km from the sea — the highest coastal mountain range in the world.
