The Zeugma Mosaic Museum holds roughly 1,700 square metres of Roman floor mosaic, among the largest such collections anywhere. Most of it was excavated in a rush in 2000, as the Birecik Dam was flooding the ancient city of Zeugma.

Gaziantep is also a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, and takes its pistachio baklava seriously enough to hold a protected designation for it.
